Middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to enter and remain with the student(s) during athletic events, this includes MS and HS athletics. This is part of spectator and safety guidance for DPS athletic events. The only exception is when middle school students have received invitations from the high schools.
Stadium & Gymnasium Policies & Procedures
Durham Public Schools reserves the right to develop rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of our student-athletes, staff, students, and community. In doing so, the following policies and procedures will be enforced by all DPS Staff and supported by security and law enforcement. Violators will be asked to leave the venue.
1. No re-entry
2. Only 1 clear bag is allowed inside of the venue. (If baby bag is not clear, contents must be displayed)
3. No fighting or weapons allowed
4. No heckling, taunting, booing, or profanity allowed
5. No outside food or drink (exception: nursing children)
6. All Durham Public School campuses are smoke and drug free. a. This includes but not limited to vaping, alcohol, and the like
7. No pets or animals allowed
8. No spectators/guests are allowed inside or on the playing area.
9. Guests should be properly clothed as not to create a distraction and or safety concern
10. DPS is not responsible for lost or stolen goods/items.
All parties must be present at the gate when validating your game ticket(s). Screenshots and or pictures of game tickets are not allowed.

Applicant receives and completes the CRC
Applicant returns the completed CRC and Resume to the Athletic Director
Applicant will complete the following courses on nfhslearn.com Fundamentals of Coaching, CPR/AED and Concussion in Sports
Once approve applicant will create an account on Dragon Fly and upload FOC, CPR/AED and Concussion in Sports
When purchasing away game tickets you must go to the opposing team's link and website to purchase tickets. Carrington can not control away game ticket sales or errors please advise.
The cost for game tickets are $7.00. Elementary age and under are free. Per Durham Public Schools Athletic Department, spectators are limited to one small, clear bag. Spectators who leave an athletic contest may not be allowed reentry into that contest. All parties must be present at the gate when validating your ticket(s). Screenshots and or pictures of game tickets are not allowed. All games are subject to change due to weather and or lack of referees.
All DPS employees with a current DPS identification badge are granted free admission to all DPS athletic events. A current DPS identification badge will display the employee’s current employment location within the district. The DPS identification badge allows for one ticket for that employee only.

We will still need hardcopies of the Preparticipation Physical Evaluations (PPE) form, and Concussion form.
While DragonFly Max will walk you through the process, I wanted to provide you with some helpful insights and answer some of the main questions you may have.
Once you have added your child/children please hit the submit paperwork button this new to all participants. ALL paperwork is not uploaded. We will not collect anything in person. It is all submitted and approved online. Please make sure you complete ALL sections.
When attending winter athletic events (basketball, wrestling) Mask must be worn at all times inside the building, No Re-Entry and Only one clear bag per guest, (spectators and students). The clear bag can be plastic, vinyl or PVC that is less than 12" x 12" x 6" exceptions will be made for medical and baby needs. Guest must adhere to the Department of Athletics' clear bag policy.
